Rathcarn Maghera

We feel priviliged to be in such a special place. It is here that we offer Psychotherapy for people who are seeking wholeness, supervision and support for those in the caring and helping professions, and occasionally courses and events for all who seek health and wellbeing.

Rathcarn Psychotherapy Centre is situated in a quiet rural area of Northern Ireland. We have the ancient forest of Drumnamh around the corner, the Grillagh River flowing towards the Bann and ultimately the North Atlantic, overlooked by Carn Togher to the west and Slieve Gallian to the South.

The area also has a number of neolithic stone circles and dolmens – signs of those people who lived and worked on this land four or five thousand years ago.

Many people are becoming aware of the healing power of nature. Whilst life may be busy with work and financial pressures, finding time to be amongst the trees and the fields, the rivers, mountains or shore can sooth the tired mind and body.

From Belfast or Derry, watch out for signs for Maghera along the A6.  From Cookstown follow the A29 right through Maghera.  In Maghera town centre, take the Coleraine road, out past Walsh’s Hotel.  Travel for two and a half miles,  noticing Grillagh picnic area on your right,  and then the brown sign for  ‘Drumlamph Wood’  on your left.   Turn left onto the Gortinure Road,  and watch out for a two storey house on your left about half a mile from the main road. (No 12 on the pillar at the road)  Come in the concrete lane, and just before the house take the gravel lane to your left.
